MORNING GLORIES
Early in the morning
I got a chance to see,
morning glories blooming,
so lovingly free.
Lavender blooms
were climbing so hard,
on the wire fence
surrounding the yard.
The sound of them growing
could almost be heard.
I smiled at the thought
knowing that was absurd.

FULL MOON
Tonight there is a full moon
rising in the Eastern sky.
I looked upon its golden glow
and breathed a deep, deep sigh.
The night is cool, but clear and sharp
are the stars in the velvet sky.
As I watch them in the night
I'm reminded of summer fireflies.
God made both, the moon and the stars,
for a sign for us to go by.
And on this promise God has given,
we surley can rely.

PINK DAWN
The rising sun was just below the horizon,
casting pink, orange, and lavender hues across the sky.
A few fluffy clouds drifted along.
It clung there as if waiting for a pink dawn to arrive.
So beautiful it was in its rainbow of soft colors.
Glorious, heavenly colors flowed all around me.
I stood there not daring to breathe, waiting for
the first ray of sunlight to slip over the horizon.
Then in a moment of time, there it was, rising!
A ball of orange fire all aglow, creating flames of light,
across the sky, lighting the world around me.
Awesome! So early in the morning.

A WINTER ROSE
A white rose was blooming
on a bush, in the shade,
of an old house, abandoned,
crumbling with age.
But there in the front yard,
where a lone rose bush grew,
was a single white rose,
blooming so true.
Right there beside it,
was a rusty old swing,
where someone had enjoyed the roses,
as they sat there in the swing.

EARTH'S BEAUTY
I see God's mighty hand at work
in the beauty of the trees.
I see it in the ocean waves,
and feel it in the breeze.
I am thrilled at his mountains
and the green valleys' down below.
I enjoy the lush green forrest
and the rivers as they flow.
I've always enjoyed the scenery
wherever I travel to.
But there are so many places
I haven't had a chance to view.

A SMILE
A smile is like a flower.
It blooms within the heart.
Spread the blooms around the wolrd,
and see what it will start.
Watch a smile bring some joy
into someone's heart.
A smile at a stranger,
could set their day apart.
A smile is contagious,
let it from your lips be free.
See it spread across the faces
of the people that you see.
